On throughout May and June

May’s artist is Gemma Cumming. Gemma’s work reacts to imagery that sells an expectation of a place, not its reality. She creates giant painted postcards with an ominous twist. Replacing the blue skies with darker, unusual and/or more ominous ones while retaining the brightly lit foreground she asks the viewer to look again at the scene. www.gemmacumming.com

‘Art in the Library’ gives local artists, art students and craftspeople a platform to exhibit their work and ideas by mounting their work in the library café for up to two months in the year. For enquiries or further information please contact Laura de Moxom on 0118 978 1368.
