Heritage Open Day

On Saturday 9 September, Wokingham Town Council will once again be celebrating Heritage Open Days at the Town Hall.  This year’s theme is ‘Creativity Unwrapped’ and we’re looking to celebrate the Arts with some hands-on activities, through writing and crafts, whilst discovering connections to our local history.

Outside, we’ll be joined by a lively local ‘character’ Molly Mogg telling tales of old, from her time at the Rose Inn. And inside, we will invite residents and visitors to unwrap some of our history that inspired Wokingham as we see it today. Try out lacemaking and crochet or create something special with mosaics. ‘Brickies’ from Holme Grange Craft Centre will be bringing Lego on the day; could your little ones build town halls or amphitheatres from the past or a building of the future?
